She performs alongside Matthew Daddario on Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. Shadowhunters: the Mortal Instruments. Wainwright first made her debut in the show on Smosh which is a comedy YouTube channel in 2012. She's guest-starred as a character on numerous TV and film shows, including Criminal Minds. The news was released in September 2016 that Wainwright would be portraying the werewolf Maia Roberts, based on The Mortal Instruments series of novels written by Cassandra Clare. After her appearance in the second season, Wainwright was elevated to series regular in the third season of the show. Wainwright is currently a part of Netflix's Raising Dion. She plays the step-sister of two. She was Alanah as Alanah in her role in the NBA 2k17 video game. In 2019 she started as Nicole Reese, in Netflix's Raising Dion.
